Becoming a Mediator

Mediation is a dispute resolution technique which offers an informal, structured process in which an independent third party, a mediator, helps people in a disagreement or dispute to create a way forward. It is future focused moving the emphasis from how things have been towards a healthy working relationship with mutually agreed practical solutions to the issues which have held them back in the past. Mediation can also be used where there is conflict within teams.

Companies are increasingly acknowledging the significance of a professional mediator and the impact mediation can have in the resolution of a workplace dispute. In addition, more and more HR professionals realise the importance of developing an effective dispute resolution skillset to enhance their credentials and ability to deal with disputes within the workplace.

Testimonials

“I attended ADR Group’s Civil & Commercial Mediation Training course in London, led by the superb Andrew Goodman. The course was excellent and its administration flawless– as a commercial litigator I could see that the insight provided and the expertise displayed in compiling and providing the material were second to none. The course was challenging, but the support that we received made the experience so worthwhile.

The training has given me a far greater appreciation of what the role requires than I had before and made me confident in my ability to act as mediator, moving forward. I am very grateful to Andrew and ADR Group.”
