
Professional Practice Consultancy Training (PPC) in Conjunction with FMA and Resolution
This two-day intensive course , delivered by use of presentations, case discussions, role plays, self disclosure and conflict testing, is aimed at accredited mediators wishing to train as a Professional Practice Consultant ('PPC').
By the end of the course participants will cover:
- Examining the varied roles and requirements of a PPC
- Identifying and addressing the needs of supervises
- Examining theoretical and practice models of supervision
- Authority, enabling, control, whistle-bowing and ethical issues
- Effective scrutinising of files/file reviews and critique of sets of summaries
- Developing accreditation and/or competence potential
- Dealing with yearly appraisals, identifying the need for training and developing action plans
- Networking, marketing support, contracting and charging rates
- By the end of the course delegates will:
- Have assimilated the theory of professional practice consultancy and developed an understanding of the role/function of a PPC
- Be confident in their ability to offer appropriate support and encouragement to supervises
- Able to identify supervisees' training requirements and to assess and consider 'action plans'
- Be confident in their understanding of the nature and role of task assessing and monitoring.
Application:
Delegates must be supported in their application to undertake this training by a reference/letter in support from their own PPC.
Commitment:
Please note that trained PPC's make a ‘commitment’ to continuing professional development and that ADR/FMA PPC's are required to attend at least one PPC Day each year.
