Family
Our family mediation services
provide support for families in dispute, including couples
facing separation or divorce through to difficulties arising
from beneficiary disputes. Family mediation can help reduce
hostility, protect the interests of dependents and prove to
be a very cost-effective route to resolving dispute.
Family Mediation is not 'marriage guidance'
nor is it a substitute for legal advice; it is a process whereby
highly qualified impartial mediators manage the exchange of information supporting both parties to make informed consensual decisions.
Throughout family mediation, decision-making
rests with the parties. Family Mediators assist
in identifying issues, overcoming obstacles
to communication, exploring alternatives and focusing on the
needs and interests of those most affected by the separation.
This often includes the thoughtful and sensitive consideration
of children's concerns.
Family Mediators are recruited from specialised
professional backgrounds. All are carefully selected and accredited
to UK and European standards. ADRg
work in conjunction with the Family Mediators’ Association,
one of the UK’s leading independent family mediation
charities.
We also operate a dedicated confidential Freephone Family Mediation Helpline (0808 200 0033) where callers can receive information about the mediation process and be put in touch with a qualified family mediator in their area.
